This pair of “pot-a-lait” or milk pots are a direct influence from my time in France. I have several in my personal collection and am continually enamored of the simple and direct connection between form and function.

On the lefthand pot, I have used my celadon glaze. I like this glaze because any contact with the wood ash moving through the kiln causes the celadon to blush with this blue color called chun. The pot on the right is glazed in my temoku glaze and as per usual, the wood ash has bleached the iron to a lovely amber and caused it to start to run down the side of the pot creating a rainbow of golds, reds and browns.
